Blake's Ears

Since Blake was about 11 months old, he has had ear problems. We go to the doctor's every 2-4 weeks to get them checked out - the left one is always either infected or inflamed with fluid in them. A few months ago we saw a specialist up in PG and he decided that we should put a tube in the left ear. And finally, after months of waiting for a date, we got a call a couple weeks ago. This past Sunday night we drove up to Quesnel and spent the night. We had to be at the hospital yesterday morning at 630am. Blake was scheduled to go in at 8am - the hard part was keeping him occupied enough that he didn't want anything to eat or drink! He looked so cute in his little hospital gown - can't believe I didn't get a picture of that! He cried when the nurses had to take him into the OR, but they said he was fine once they got in there. We had thought that they were going to be putting him right out with IV meds, but he ended up just getting some gas. The procedure only took about 10 minutes. We then saw him being wheeled into the room, just looking around, "chatting" with the RN. As soon as he saw us he was all smiles and waving...... so cute. We had to stay there for about half an hour while they checked his vitals. We were on the road back to WL by 930am!
We thought that he would be tired for the rest of the day....wrong! He hasn't stopped running around since we got home! Our brave little boy :)

I am glad everything went well and hopefully that has fixed the problem. Blake has been through a lot in his first 19/20 months.
Love ya Blake. :)

Granddad :)
