August Long weekend

We had been planning our holiday for the week after August Long for a few months and were really excited to be heading out West. The Ovingtons and Reid's arrived at our place Friday night. We were all ready to head out in the morning!

This was the first time that we had been to Chilko Lake. Because of the fires out West, we didn't get the beautiful views that we should have. We camped right where the Lake and River meet. Bruce & Penny Reid, and Jacobson's were already there when we arrived.

Ovington's spent two nights with us at Chilko. They had brought a tent - but Wade and Darren ended up sleeping in it and Erin and the boys slept in the trailer with me and Blake. We had a Black Bear in camp almost every day/night and it was not afraid of anyone or anything.

The weather cleared up one evening and Mike offered to take the Ladies up the lake to see the mountains. We had a nice boat ride and got to see some beautiful scenery.

We had a great time at Chilko. It would have been nice to be able to have a campfire though! We stayed at Chilko until Wednesday and then headed back to Tatla lake to refuel...
